HealthAgree began in 2004 with an entirely different name – Praesentia Consultation, a Latin nod to the presence of mind and strength required by small provider practices to negotiate with large health insurance companies. The founder, Dan Hounchell, borrowed from his experience at a large insurer and later as an attorney, to lay a foundation for well-reasoned, process-driven negotiations. Always innovating, Dan left in 2009 to lead healthcare transformation efforts for a regional health system.
